REASONS
  • International competition
The ex aequo award for the best short film goes to Tulum, by DALIBOR MATANIC and 6.5 minutes in Tel Aviv, by MIREY BRANTZ.
Tulum, for creating a memory of one of the most terrible tragedies of humanity through a straightforward and blunt style and a good metaphorical ability.
6.5 minutes in Tel Aviv, through a functional structure, full of suspense and care for the detail, tries to tell the suspended anguish and the impossibility to meet for two populations engaged in an endless conflict.
With this shared award the jury selected two films connected with the themes of memory and the nonsense of conflicts in areas close to our country, which both have led the audience, even for a short while, to meditate.

  • Special Mention
SKHIZEIN, by Jeremy Caplin, for his brilliant idea of representing madness, for the fresh and well studied drawings and the innovative narrative language.

  • Italian competition.
The award for the best short film goes to Macchie di Sole by STELLA DI TOCCO, for her ability to tell in a few minutes a delicate story with a light-hearted but well considered style.
The director in her first work has shown to have good skills, although still raw.
The film shows, even if with some imperfection in the dramaturgical background, to have good grace in telling the uncertainty of adolescence, with a straight and minimal style.

  • A special mention of the jury goes to Esperandote by CLARA SALGADO for her ability to deal with present-day themes with delicacy.
With this mention the jury encourages the director to keep on her work taking more care in the staging and in the dramaturgical background in her future works.
